It’s the first day of Spring, and we can’t wait for the fresh, crisp air and the warm breezes. Today’s Wines by Wives Wine Cocktail Wednesday drink is a preview of the wonderful season of new beginnings, cool nights, and blowy afternoons. The Lily Pad, is made with Pinot Grigio, and is as refreshing and relaxing as having brunch outside on a Spring morning. Ingredients:

4 oz. Pinot Grigio (Try Wines by Wives St. Marina Pinot Grigio: http://bit.ly/WBWSMPG)
1.5 oz Lime Juice Mixer
3 oz Lemon Wedges, and a splash of soda

Directions:

Build in a glass over ice. Squeeze lemon wedge on top. Stir. You can garnish with a lime wedge.

4 oz Moscato
1.5 oz Pomegranate Juice
1 oz Pink grapefruit juice
Splash Soda water

Wines by Wives’ Wine Cocktail Wednesday: Ice Wine Martini

Got any green grapes around? Try this simple twist on the Martini!

Ingredients:

– 12 large seedless green grapes (2 halved grapes for garnish)
– 2 ounces ice wine
– 2 ounces vodka
– Ice

Directions: In a blender, puree the 10 whole grapes with the ice wine and vodka. Pour the puree through a tea strainer into an ice-filled cocktail shaker and shake well. Strain again into a large chilled martini glass and garnish with the grape halves.
